COVID-19: Tollywood megastar actor-politician Chiranjeevi tests positive

CHENNAI: Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi announced on Monday that he has tested positive for coronavirus.

The 65-year-old actor said that he took a COVID-19 test before resuming his shoot for his upcoming film 'Acharya', as part of the safety protocol set.

The actor addressed a letter to his fans and media, where he wrote: “I am currently asymptomatic & quarantining myself at home. Request all those who met me in the last 5 few days to also undergo covid tests. Will update you on my recovery soon."


Presented by Ram Charan under Konidela Productions banner, Acharya has Kajal Aggarwal as the female lead. 'Acharya' is written and directed by Koratala Siva. The shoot of the film came to a halt in March due to the pandemic and the subsequent lockdown.
